Charitable organizations are the improvement of life is the main goal, without influence from financial profit motivation. They exist in nearly every country of the world and there are also many international charitable organizations that work to provide benefits is many different global locations. Many of these are household names and are involved in many different American communities. Usually, these organizations will have a specific focus for their humanitarian efforts, such as with the World Wildlife Fund, but there are also groups that work by collecting large amounts of money and applying them to many different areas.One such group that has been well respected in the charitable community is the Rockefeller Foundation. Based in New York City and founded by the Rockefeller family, the group has had many projects in the cultural and education fields, working to end discrimination in schools and provide adequate training for all people. In addition, the Rockefeller Foundation has donated money and scientific expertise to the development of vaccines, such as with yellow fever. With a wide range of projects, the group has been involved in many projects and is considered to be one of the most influential charitable organizations.
While the Rockefeller Foundation is perhaps the most influential charitable organization in the world, there is one that has an even larger coffer of funds to be distributed. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is based in the United States as well, but their $33.5 billion endowment funds projects in many different countries. The foundation gained the massive amount of money from Bill Gates, a software entrepreneur famous for Windows, and Warren Buffett, considered to be the richest person in the world. Their combined efforts have insured that the organization will be funded for many years to come and that the well being of the world will improve as a result.
